For many common terms the address bar on Firefox works just as well without having to first enter Google into afore mentioned address bar.

By the way, if you’re wondering why they implemented it, it’s probably for two good reasons:
- a request with few results probably contains spelling mistakes, so they’re trying not to confuse you by sending you to an unrelated site
- to avoid spammers sending you a link pretending to be from google.com when really it would be a redirection to obscuresite.com: since they have a poor pagerank they’ll never be the first link unless the query has few results

typing in some fun phrases bring up some sweet results under the \’im feeling lucky\’

try typing in \’google leet\’
or \’find chuck norris\’
then click the im feeling lucky tab.

Umm, actually clicking the link to the btnI=1 query gets me the first result instead of the results page. :P
